  • Most Popular Design Details

  • When designing a kitchen, the little stuff matters. The selection of appliances and a thoughtful cabinetry layout is essential, but we feel the details are almost as equally important. This is where you can really make your kitchen shine.

Details like molding, doors, drawers, feet, and hardware all play a role in the final look and style - whether formal, primitive, or a mix of both.

Please keep in mind that the options below are only a few of our favorites.

  • DOORS

raised panel molding. Click to open in modal.

More primitive pieces feature plank doors made of a single board or two boards nailed together with a cleat on the back and a beaded edge on the door face. Paneled doors can have flat panels, beaded panels or raised panel, and are often mixed together in our "Collected Kitchens."

  • DRAWERS

Drawers can be made with 1820s style cock beading trim, 18th century thumbnail molding, or a simple flush inset. All drawers are dovetailed.

Crown moldings can be made simply as primitive flat boards or more formal like Ogee crown molding with a cap.

Hardware is the finishing touch that often dictates style. The same piece of furniture could have a vastly different feel based on which hardware is chosen.
